August recap – what is new with you?

Each month the lovely Kirsten from http://www.seeyouinaporridge.com/ hosts a link up where bloggers can share a recap from their previous month.

August was a great month and Mark and I enjoyed two weekends up the West Coast.  I love Langebaan.  I love seeing the Gannets at Bird Island in Lamberts Bay.  I got some spa pampering.  Great food at Ginja Beanz. Both getaways left me feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead.

We discovered a new place for breakfast and brunch called Jarryds in Town.  I’d visited the restaurant after a morning hike with my boss and some colleagues and wanted to show Mark the menu.  So we had a couple of brunches there and the food is SO good.

I spent a lot of time at the gym, did my best 5k run and lost a few kilos.  We have been doing meal planning and increasing our veggies (not that you’d tell by the pics above haha).  But during the week we have been eating super healthily and doing a dry month.

Getting back into my creative writing was one of my goals for August and I’m pleased to say I ticked it off the list.  I just need to allocate more time to it.

I did make time for blogging and finally got around to writing a post I’ve been meaning to share for ages on female friendships.  https://my30somethingadventures.wordpress.com/2019/08/19/4001/

The month flew by to be honest and now we are in spring.  The mornings are less chilly and summer is around the corner.  It is my favourite time of year 🙂

What about you?  How was your August?

xx
