West Coast weekends

We recently spent 2 weekends up the West Coast visiting Bird Island in Lamberts Bay and staying in Langebaan at a gorgeous guesthouse.

Bird Island is amazing and home to the Gannet which is one of the most beautiful birds in my opinion.  We arrived early each time to get the morning light and enjoyed some time in the hide which gives great views of these magnificent birds.

We stood for ages just watching them take off and saw some comical landings!  Such an enjoyable start to the day.

We made our way back to Langebaan, had breakfast at Ginja Beanz and spent time in West Coast National Park.  The flower season is here and spring is around the corner.

I had some pampering the one weekend at my favourite spa – Zest – always a treat to visit.

We stayed at Harrisons House which is a 5 star guest house in Langebaan.  The rooms are beautiful and filled with thoughtful extras.  Underfloor heating in winter – bliss.

The breakfasts the next morning were such a treat!

We drove back the one afternoon through Mamre and I took this pretty photo.  Spring is getting closer and I am looking forward to warmer weather!

There is so much to do and see up the West Coast.  Cannot wait to go back.
