Hello weekend

New pic

Greetings from a very cold Cape Town!

Fridays mean happy vibes and gratitude lists.  As always, I enjoy linking up with Lindsay http://theflynnigans.com/ Charlotte http://mypixieblog.com/ and Beth http://coffeeuntilcocktailsblog.com/  with my list of things that made me smile during the week:

  • Going for a long drive on Saturday
  • Relaxing Sunday and having a date night in the evening
  • Finally finished sorting out the study cupboard.  Looks so tidy now!
  • Rain – so very much appreciated especially after the drought worries last year.
  • Homemade chocolate cupcakes
  • Heater in the office – what a difference it makes!
  • Learning new things at work.
  • Giving a slow moving book another chance and enjoying it more a few chapters in
  • Watching “The Village” – such a great series.
  • Healthy dinners in the week – amazing the difference meal planning makes.

Last night we went to do most of the grocery shopping for the weekend so that is one less thing to do this evening.  We’ve been craving a good pasta so that is what we are making tonight and I plan to do some baking while supper cooks.  I love baking in winter so much more than in summer.

More rain is predicted for tomorrow and I’m certainly not complaining!  Perfect weather for snuggling up with a book and some blankets on the couch.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I’m going to need photographic evidence to believe you about the study cupboard being clean. I need a cooler in my office. The temps fluctuate so much that I can go from boiling to freezing in a day!

  2. sometimes slow-burn books pays off….if you can hack it. i give it 50 pages or 5 chapters (whichever comes first) before i chuck it. for books that i *know* (or heard) are amazing, I’ll extend that to 10 chapters or 150 pages….sometimes it pays off but most of the time it doesn’t 😦
