Hello Friday!

We had some really hot summer days recently and now it is back to spring with cooler temperatures – I’m not complaining, I know the very hot weather will arrive and in the meantime I’m enjoying this can-wear-a-dress-without-getting-cold-but-don’t-need-airconditioning-just-yet weather. My Friday pic above was taken a while ago when we were in Hermanus and I never get tired of looking at the ocean. It is getting me into the weekend mood!
My highlights from this week include:
- Garden is looking amazing! Hubby and I went to buy plants and flowers and it is looking so much like spring outside. I love looking out at the window box and seeing petunias when I’m doing dishes.
- Finding an old book I’d forgotten I’d bought and reading it now. After the Last Dance by Sarra Manning. Cannot put it down.
- Getting an appointment for a pedicure tomorrow. Left it quite late but so pleased they could fit me in at the time requested.
- Rose petal and vanilla tea by Woolworths. A friend gave this to me over the weekend and it tastes so good.
- Being more mindful. This week we spent a lot of time pottering around in the garden in the evenings. After the planting we sat outside and just enjoyed the cool evening. There was chores to do and dinner to start and we just sat on our bench until we realised the stars were out and it was getting late.
Tomorrow we are going to Langebaan for the day. I love a spontaneous road trip! I’m getting a pedicure (haven’t been to a spa in ages and felt like a treat).
What about you? What is on your gratitude list today? Anything exciting planned for the weekend?

That ocean picture is lovely! I feel calm just looking at it! A pedicure sounds lovely, I haven’t had one in a few months now and even though I’m heading into winter, I wouldn’t mind a little pampering on my feet! And yay for gardens! Just as you’re getting yours planted, mine is starting to die off. Oh well. You’ll have to post some pictures! Have a great weekend!!

The pedicure was super relaxing! I hadn’t been in ages (while we had our winter) but pampering is wonderful no matter the season – so I hope you spoil yourself.
Will definitely be posting some pictures – this weekend was lovely – just flew too quickly!

yay for pedicures and weather comfortable enough to wear a dress! I haven’t had a pedi in ages, but I love to treat myself to a manicure when I can and might go this weekend to get another one. Hope you have a great weekend and that you enjoy your spa appointment–you deserve it! Also i need to pick up a good book again; it’s been a while 🙂

I love my nails after a manicure! Haven’t had one in ages – since I tried the gellish. Hope you made time to go and have one this weekend.
There are so many books I want to read – thank goodness for Goodreads so I can keep track!

I’m working on planting my fall bulbs so they will bloom when we get into spring next year, but I can’t wait until I can start on my vegetable garden next spring and summer. Rose petal and vanilla tea sounds delicious! I need to try that!

You must be looking forward to your vegetable garden! That is great that you are planning your bulbs so you can enjoy them in spring.
The tea is great – it has a hint of chamomile and the taste of the rose petal and vanilla is so good!

yes to being more mindful! we had a small taste of summer flashback where the temps soared to 28C and sunny so we all sat outside after dinner enjoying the last minute summer. it was glorious.

Lovely post. And being mindful — something we all need to remind ourselves to do as life flies by.

It is so essential isn’t it? It just takes practice because life can be so busy and it flies by way too fast.
