Friday smiles

Hooray Friday is here!  It was my first week back at work (okay first 3 days) and I’m back into the routine of things.  Wasn’t the greatest week ever but I’ve settled back in and it has been a relatively quiet week so catching up from being away went smoothly.

I love Fridays because there is an awesome link up that takes place with Lindsay http://theflynnigans.com/ Charlotte http://mypixieblog.com/ and Beth http://coffeeuntilcocktailsblog.com/  called What’s up weekend?  Bloggers share their gratitude lists and it is a great way to start the weekend as we look back on the positives of the past week.

This week the following made me happy:

  1. A wonderful time on leave with my ❤
  2. Short work week – only 3 days 🙂
  3. Date night on Wednesday. Had a very long day – first day back in the office and going to one of our favourite restaurants was a great start to the evening.
  4. Tea. Drank gallons this week!
  5. Making birthday plans – under a month away and I’m excited 🙂
  6. Morgan Taylor nail polish. Treated myself to 2 new bottles.
  7. New Polo handbag and purse I bought a few days ago.
  8. Whatsapps from my Mom.
  9. Chilling on our bench in the garden after work last night.
  10. Frozen yoghurt

We have a quiet weekend planned and I cannot wait.  Going to have a braai tomorrow night and we need to do a grocery shop after work tonight.  Going to try get to gym after I dust my membership card off!

What your plans this weekend?

xx

Yay for date nights and short work weeks 🙂 I haven’t heard of this nail polish before–will have to look it up. Enjoy the weekend ahead! We aren’t up to much this weekend… it’s hitting another record low (and it feels like -10 degrees today out there), so probably a lot of crockpoting and Netflixing 🙂 Ha!

It is a really good nail polish (I’m fussy and cannot handle chips so when I find one that lasts I love it).
Hope you are having a good weekend so far. Keep warm 🙂

I had a three day work week too! And we also did date night on Wednesday, but at home after the kiddo went to bed, lol. It’s been cold here but frozen yogurt sounds kind of good right now! I’m glad you had a good week! I hope it’s a great weekend!

Mid week date nights are the best! Glad you enjoyed yours.
We are melting in the heat at the moment so anything cold is enjoyed and frozen yoghurt is so tasty 🙂
Hope you are having a great weekend so far.

      Short weeks are wonderful!
Morgan Taylor nail polish is great – alot of the salons here use them and I find it just lasts longer.

Short weeks are the best 🙂 (I technically always have a ‘short’ week, because I work a 4-10 schedule, so my days are very long, but I love having a three-day weekend almost every weekend 🙂 Worth it!)

I am still not adjusted to being back from holidays. Your date night breaks up a week quite nicely, I love that you guys make so much time for one on one time together. That’s so important in relationships.
Ooh I can’t wait tonhear what your big birthday plans are. I bet some incredible photos will come from it though, I just know you’ll be off to some beautiful place… 🙂
I hope you had a great week babe. xoxo

I agree it is so important to have one on one time together – date nights are a priority for us because it is too easy to let day to day stuff eat into your time.
I’ve got something in mind for next month. I’m turning 35 but not doing anything huge – just a special dinner with hubby that night and then seeing my parents and spending some time with them a few days later.
Hope your week has been good. I enjoyed your December summary this week – such a fun post.
      xoxo
